Luanda, capital of Angola, is the most beautiful town in the country, main port and biggest industrial centre. Several sites need to be visited: The São Miguel fortress, built in the XVIIth century, sheltering the Arm Forces Museum, the National Anthropology Museum and the Slavery Musuem, is by the seaside, 16 miles from Luanda. Luanda was, from the XVIIth century to the middle of the XIXth century, one of the main shipping ports of African slaves destined to Brazil and Cuba.
