Located in the largest bay on the island of Antigua, Saint John's is a small town with an old centre that has been partially renovated. It has conserved a certain "Caribbean" style: narrow streets, wooden houses, travelling salesmen and nonchalance. The old area of Redcliff Quay is now dedicated to tourist shops. Nearby, Heritage Quay is a gleaming shopping centre devoted to duty-free shopping. A visit to Saint-John's is pleasant and rapid. To see: the cathedral, the Antigua and Barbuda museum located in the old law courts, and the naval museum, which exhibits shipwrecks.
