Every water sport is practised on Antigua: sailing, water-skiing, sailboarding, etc. For sail boarding, the best winds are from November to February and from June to August. Surfing is done on the North-Eastern coast. Underwater observation and diving are possible on the reef almost all around the island. The deepest sea-beds, at nearly 40 metres, are in the South at Shirley Heights, but in general, the depth is at around 15 metres. The hotels hold equipment reserved for their customers. At Dickinson Bay, it is possible to hire material on the beach (e.g.: catamarans for the day or for a longer period).
