Fraser Island is another coastal curiosity. Located to the north of Brisbane, Fraser is the largest island of sand in the world. It is covered by superb forests and a multitude of fresh water lakes (Lake McKenzie). It is only accessible in a 4X4 (via the Rainbow Beach ferry).
