The astonishing Marine Park of the Great Australian Bight is situated on the tip of the Eyre Peninsula, on the Aborigine land of the Yalatas. It is one of the best observation points for bowhead whales. Today, about one hundred whales can be counted 65 miles from the cliffs between June and October. Indeed, the period of reproduction causes migration of the mammal towards the warm waters of southern Australia. More rarely, you can see the fin of a great white shark or the movements of an Australian sea lion. Swimming with dolphins, visiting the sea lions or greeting the great white shark from behind a few security bars are sensations within a hand's reach in this rich region.
