During the course of a dive into the immense underwater garden of the Great Barrier Reef, you can get very close to numerous species of multicoloured fish (amongst the 1,500 that are classified). Without mentioning the innumerable green turtles, 4,000 different types of molluscs and almost 10,000 types of sponges. At certain times of the year, you can see the migration of whales at different points in Australia: in Byron Bay, New South Wales (June-July and September-October), at Hervey Bay, Queensland (hump-backed whales from June to end October) or in the great bay of Nullarbor, in western Australia (bowhead whales, from June to end October).
