Kobustan, located 40 miles south of Baku, is an open-air museum town. Some 4,000 cave paintings, going back about 12,000 years, represent hunting scenes, ritual dances, religious ceremonies or reproductions of ships and constellations. This place is definitely of considerable historical interest for tourists, if only because it is a chance to see the signatures, comments and graffiti left here by Roman soldiers at the beginning of our era!
