If you decide to stay on Nassau for a few days, visit the High Court and the Governor's Palace. Two ceremonies are held there during the course of the year.
The first, the opening of the High Court, is celebrated by an impressive procession to Rawson Square. The procession is accompanied by the famous Bahamas Police Force Band. This event takes place four times a year (January, April, July and October).
And then come and attend the changing of the guard in front of the Governor's Palace, this fortunately taking place more frequently. This is the official representative of Elizabeth II in the Bahamas. It takes place once in every two Saturdays. This changing of the guard has nothing to envy from the big official ceremonies, as it forms part of them.
