The typical Bangladeshi dish is curry or massala, based on meat (beef, mutton, chicken) or fish. You can find eggs or vegetables here, cooked in a spicy sauce and served with yellow lentils (dhal) and a lot of white rice (bhat). The main dishes based on rice are biryani, pilau and khichuri, a mixture of rice and lentils. Kebabs and kofes (meatballs) are available everywhere, like chapattis. You can find a few vegetarian dishes (bhaji) consisting of fried vegetables. You can consume numerous very sugary desserts based on rice pudding (firni, pais, kheer), flavoured with saffron or cinnamon. The traditional drink is milk tea (cha).
