The Royal Bengal tiger is the pride of the country. It is a protected species: around 400 of them remain in the Sundarbans national Park. When standing, the animal can be up to 6.5 feet high and weigh almost 660 pounds! However, you have very little chance of seeing one during a guided visit to the park. Actually, the armed guards are terrified of this powerful carnivore, and always try to make a maximum of noise during excursions so that they do not come across one.
