Guanacaste National Park, Belize Guanacaste National Park covers 50 acres in central Belize and is named after a huge Guanacaste tree, one of the largest tree species in Central America. Vladimira Dvorakova / age fotostock;
The flora in the virgin forest is abundant: mango trees are found beside orchids, which grow amongst giant ferns and mosses. To appreciate this diversity, visit the Guanacaste National Park, 2.5 miles to the east of Belmopan. As well as the species previously mentioned, you will see giant guanacaste trees. Pirogues were previously made out of their trunks.
