Between the two, the high plateau of the Altiplano stretches from the Peruvian border to Argentina at an average height of 11,480 feet. Some areas are relatively easy to access, notably those with departure from La Paz, however, you need real organisation to get to most of the more remote places that only the local agencies can provide you with. Most of the high mountain treks follow routes that the Incas took beforehand. The possibilities are so numerous and the scenery so varied, that Bolivia can without doubt compete with Nepal.
