The Kalahari

The south-west of the country is the undivided kingdom of the Kalahari, an immense desert stretching over no less than seven countries (463,323 sq mi), comprised of savannah, seasonal rivers and immense stretches of land. To truly experience the solitude here, you can make the trek across the desert centre to Deception Valley, in the heart of the Kalahari National Park. And in order not to miss anything at all, you can also make the crossing to the Mabuasehube-Gemsbok National Park, one of the wildest regions of the continent and above all the only place in the country covered with moving dunes and shifting sands.
