One thing's for sure: there is little point in visiting Botswana if you intend to indulge in urban tourism. Having said that, there is nothing preventing you from spending some time in the city. For example, Gaborone, the capital city, is conveniently located some 9 miles from the airport, making it an ideal place to visit on your way in or out of the country. You can, of course, also take a day trip there during your stay.
