In the south of the country, on the border of Argentina and Paraguay, the Iguaçu Falls are among the largest cascades on earth. The water is discharged into the river of the same name, 70 meters lower down. Garganta do Diabo (Devil's Throat), the largest waterfall, pours down from a height of 90 meters (and Niagara is 56 metres!). Footbridges go into the heart of the site, bordered by sub-tropical forest.
