This religious building, located in the district of Lapa in Rio, leaves no visitor indifferent. Some appreciate its appearance of a modern pyramid; others are rebuffed by its bare concrete exterior and interior in abstract stained glass. The cathedral was completed in 1976. It is 80 meters high, and the colours of its stained glass - green, red, blue and yellow - symbolise respectively the unique, sacred, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
