Trifon Zarezan

Every February 14th, the Bulgarians celebrate Trifon Zarezan, the old wine growers festival. On this day, the wine growers go into the fields, prune the vines, and sprinkle them with wine. Thus, the next harvest should be an abundant one. At mid-day, a meal is organised in the open air. Tourists can take part in the festivities: wine tasting and visits to vineyards are on offer.
