The climate makes it not quite easy to organise a trip. The extent of regional rainfall is such that there is just about January and February for optimum weather conditions all over the country. Even then, it is not that simple, as the wind occasionally brings over sand from the Sahara between December and February. All things considered, you should avoid the rainy season between May and November. Almost all the tracks are impassable at this time, and the trip would be very disrupted. Generally, the climate becomes less humid as you move away from the coasts. Between February and May, the temperatures are very high in the north. In Douala, average temperatures vary between 31 °C in January, and 35 °C in October.
