To the south-east of Douala, one hour away on the road, you will reach the highest point of the country, Mount Cameroon (4,000m), which you should not miss. If you can, you will perhaps see its summit emerge from the clouds. During the dry season you will be able to climb it (the 17 miles trip takes one or two days, depending on whether you stop mid-way or not, to spend the night). Lower down, Buéa is a tranquil town. Its pleasant climate makes it a favourite destination when it is very hot. Near to Douala, go and visit the Ekom waterfalls. The choice of accommodation in the area is quite restricted.
