The Canadian ShieldThis ancient range of eroded mountains stretches across almost six provinces. Much of it is now covered in vast forests that help keep the sawn timber industry in business. Vladimira Dvorakova / age fotostock;
Quebec is a vast expanse of nature in its purest form. The forests that make up most of the scenery are astonishing, with their diversity and colours. In the north of Quebec, there are vast expanses of wild land with miles of woods, pine trees and tundra deserts. This region, which covers more than half of the area of Quebec, has only 40,000 inhabitants, of which the majority is Inuit on Nunavik territory. The nature has therefore remained wild, and the ways of living very traditional thus providing you with a formidable change of scene.
