The Boali waterfalls Contrary to Zambezi's Victoria Falls, the Boali falls have very much remained in their natural state. There are very few infrastructures, preventing the jungle from being spoilt. © V. Durruty / Hoa Qui
Go to the Boali waterfalls, 43 miles from the capital. Against an impressive backdrop of virgin forest, the M'bari river pours down from 160 feet high and is 820 feet wide. Go down along the falls, taking the steps hollowed into the rock. A steep path then takes you to the lake below. You must absolutely resist the temptation to bathe: the lake is swarming with crocodiles.
