N'Djamena The capital of Chad has suffered wars but still has many beautiful things to be seen. © Hoa Qui
NDjamena was once one of the most bustling cities in Central Africa. Although war had great impact on it, as is shown by the walls of its buildings, the city has managed to regain its joyfulness and dynamism. The historic quarter is amazing! Its colourful daily market offers you a view of Chadian daily life and beautiful carpets and jewels, made on the spot. The national museum is home to a collection relating the Sarh culture which stretches back to the 9th century. You can't miss the contrasting moods of the muslim neighbourhoods (very calm at night) and the areas inhabited by Southerners, full of bars and animated by numerous night owls.
