 Gastronomy

Chilean gastronomy is as varied as its territory is vast. You will not be able to avoid the "cazuela de ave", a soup based on corn and chicken, mixed with various vegetables. Very copious. "Empanadas", rich pasties of meat, vegetables or cheese, are sold everywhere, and can be eaten at any time; during meals, with the family, or standing up in the street.
Humita is a corn purée prepared with milk and onions. The famous Chilean wine, which is developed on the Pacific coast, offers a variety of grapes originally from Europe, and is very good quality. The Santa Carolina wines (cabernet, sauvignon, chardonnay) and "pisco" based on muscat, are "musts".
