Along the seafront of Hanga Roa, a small rocky beach has been set up. Lovers of fine sand go directly to Anakena beach, on the northern coast. Overlooked by seven moais of Ahu Pau Pau, this small strip of white sand has the only coconut plantation on the island. Here, the clear waters are perfect for scuba diving or snorkelling. Several miles from there, Ovahe beach is smaller, but offers a nice creek bordered by pink volcanic cliffs.
