Beidaihe is situated to the southeast of Beijing. This small town is set in a landscape reminding you of the old Côte d'Azur, on the coast of the Bo Hai Sea. It was a summer holiday resort for diplomatic families, and a place of rest for the high dignitaries of the Party. Today the seaside resort the closest to Beijing, Beidaihe has preserved old villas. It has become very popular and allows thousands of citizens to discover the joys of bathing in the sea. Two nights spent there are an amusing and restful distraction. Allow for five hours by train from Beijing.
