Monuments in China - Beijing and the North

The Great Wall The Great WallConstruction began in the 5th century B.C. to contain the threat of Mongol invasion, though in the end it was never actually used. Best View Stock / age fotostock

Our advice: to make the most of the two important visits with departure from the capital, it is best to avoid ?doing' the Great Wall and the Ming tombs in the same outing. This is what is usually offered by tour operators as the two sites are on the same route but visitors become frustrated due to the lack of time.
