The art of pottery is without doubt one of the oldest Chinese traditions. First production date back to more than 8,000 years. It reached its height under the Song dynasty (960-1279): at the time a white, fine, translucid, almost transparent porcelain was used. White and blue ceramics made their appearance under the Yuan (1277-1368). New colours were added later.
