Some twenty miles to the west of Beijing, a collection of pavilions, pagodas, places of worship and lakes are distributed amongst the hills, forming part of a huge park. The site has a certain charm if you avoid the Luna Park side, with its giant toboggans. Apart from this you should also see the only hotel built in China by the Chinese architect Pei, the creator of the Louvre Pyramid.
