Although it is less wild than Grande Comore and Mohélie, due to the density of its population, Anjouan has the most varied scenery of the three Comoros islands. Its lakes, waterfalls and rivers are its main tourist attractions. Avid walkers will enjoy taking the footpaths which lead inland and they will always find someone to indicate the route to them if they get lost. You must take an excursion to the Tatinga Waterfalls and to Lakes Dzialaoutsounga and Dzianlandzé, located on the slopes of Mount Ntingui (4,920 ft high). There, you will discover the most beautiful view over the whole of the archipelago; Mohéli and Grande Comore, and also Mayotte, a territorial overseas collectivity of France.
