The main world producer of ylang-ylang, the archipelago is the ideal place for discovering the cultivation of this strong smelling white flower, whose essence is used to set perfumes. The main areas of production are in the south of Grande Comore (in Mitsoudjé and Singani) and in Anjouan, where you can visit the Bambao distillery. Comoros is also a big exporter of vanilla and cloves.
