The climate is Mediterranean on the Adriatic coast. Summer is hot and dry. Temperatures sometimes rise to 32 or 33°C in July or August. In Dubrovnik and the surrounding islands, the water temperature is of 25°C in August and stays above 20°C in October. Winter is gentle, and it snows very rarely. On the other hand the northern wind, "Bura", a kind of Mistral, is freezing. But it does get rid of the clouds and brings blue skies. You can't have it all ! Inland, in the regions of Zagreb and Slavonia, the climate is continental with hot summers and cold winters. Sometimes down to 15°C below zero. Croatia has four seasons that are similar to ours. The months of spring and autumn can surprise you with magnificent days. Summer is remarkable, and it hardly ever rains.
