To see

Take a simple stroll around Havana's streets, especially the areas of the old town Havana Vieja where you will discover all of the city's delights. The buildings, although dilapidated, retain their charm. Also visit the many churches and monasteries.

Wander around in the evenings and enjoy the swing of the salsa music coming from the city's many bars. Live like the locals and take a walk at sunset along the Malecon. Stroll along La Rampa, supposedly 'the Champs Elysées' of Havana.

Of course, Cuban rum is excellent, as are the cigars. The local shirts, known as guayabera and straw hats guajiro are also a good buy. As for the music, you will find many recordings by local artists.
