Gateway to the east, Holguin is Cuba's 'secret' city. It is constructed around three large squares; Cespedes, Frexes and Calixto Garcia, the latter being the heart of the city. You can visit the provincial Museum of History and the Loma de la Cruz, the Hill of the Cross, at the top of a 468 step climb.
