Almost 100 miles away from Havana, the town of Varadero on the Hicacos Peninsula boasts more than 12 miles of fine sand beach. This is a town exclusively dedicated to tourism, especially since the construction of an international airport just 19 miles away. The peninsula has an abundance of hotels, built along the palm tree-lined shores. Very popular with Canadian, European and South American tourists, Varadero is the most famous Cuban seaside resort of all. Depending on your tastes you can create a sports or relaxation based itinerary, or a combination of the two!
