Larnaca is often the first Cypriot town you will get to on arriving, as it is just next to the island's main airport. Lined with palm trees, its promenade beside the sea is without a doubt one of the most beautiful in Cyprus. Take a stroll along the boardwalk in the evening or have a drink in one of the many bars in the old Turkish district. There is a fort built by the Turks in 1625 in the west of the town, which today houses the local Medieval Museum. Climb the museum's terraces to admire the view.
