More frequented today for its beaches than for its cultural heritage, the town of Paphos is nevertheless worth a visit. Make sure to visit the old city of Néa Paphos (3rd century). Its Roman mosaics dedicated to Dionysus are considered the most interesting in the whole of the Middle East. The vast Ptolemaic necropolis from the 3rd century BC, constructed on a cliff overlooking the sea, has a very interesting collection of royal tombs.
