The Troodos Mountains hold half of the species endemic to Cyprus. You will see two rare species there: the agrino, a type of wild sheep that is protected today, and Eleonora's falcon. It is also the land of the cedar tree and the large Aleppo pine. As in many Mediterranean countries, you will see flocks of sheep and goats together with a few species of migratory birds that come and stop here, such as the pink flamingo and the swallow.
