In the heart of the Troodos Mountains, nestled into the valley of the cedar trees (which can be found at an altitude of 4,920 ft), the monastery of Kykko is the island's most celebrated, and one of the richest in the Orthodox world. If you are in Cyprus during the festival of the Virgin, do not miss the celebrations that take place there on the 14th and 15th of August.
