The Ottoman fort of Paphos The fort overlooks the ruins of the old harbor seawall and of the Panayia Limeniotissa basilica, destroyed by the Arabs. Carlos Rodrigues
Originally, this Byzantine fortress was built to protect the port of Pafos. It was reconstructed by the Lusignans in the 13th century, dismantled by the Venetians in the 16th century, and then reconstructed by the Ottomans at the end of the 16th century. In 1935 it became a national monument. Enjoy unique views of the port from the fortress's terrace.
