Travel is my driving force in life, and although I have had the privilege of visiting 30 countries so far, my heart will always remain in India...
Tadjoura © Lonely Planet
Rather than driving to Tadjoura along the harsh road, it is preferable to take yout car aboard the boat that does the shuttle across. This town, that used to be the capital of a prosperous sultanate, has no less than seven mosques and seen from the sea offer a grasping image of impressive white structures that stick out of the mountainous background. Rimbaud spent some time in this town before leaving for Harrar, in Ethiopia. A camel market take place on the docks here from time to time.
