As you leave Al Sabieh, on the road to Djibouti that goes up in altitude to enter the Day Forest, the only permanent green spot of the country, worth a detour for its ziziphus, euphorbia and ficus trees. They are the relics of an ancient era, when the Sahara was covered in flowers and gramineaes. The Bankoualé waterfall, half way between Randa and the Day Forest, is home to a beautiful palm tree forest.
