Southwest of Dominica, the small village of Soufrière is renowned for its proximity to the hot water sources. To the north of the village, you will discover a small stone church painted in bright colours. Soufrière Bay is calm and it is not rare to see a few dolphins there; that is why it is a marine reservation. In the surrounding areas, you will find smoking sulphur springs; these are the Soufrière Sulphur Springs. A swimming pool has even been built to benefit from the water's richness and although there is a strong smell of rotten eggs, the place is very much enjoyed by the Dominicans who come here to relax on the weekends.
