The site of Altos de Chavon, a gigantic reconstruction of a Medieval Italian village within Casa de Campo village, encloses, among other things, an art school and a rich pre-Columbian archaeological museum. It overlooks the river which goes by the same name: Rio Chavon, which you can follow up to the waterfalls. Some landscapes were the setting for the films 'Apocalypse Now' and 'Rambo'. Keep in mind that some hotels offer boat excursions to Catalina Island and Saona Island.
