Hundreds of miles of fine sand, sometimes white, sometimes golden, on which the sea ripples away, unfold along the country's coasts, lined with islands and islets of incredible charm. Coconut and palm trees, green hills, or drier tropical vegetation complete the coastal scenery. This wealth of natural beauty, which the Dominicans take pride in, has lead to the creation of too many sea resorts.
