A legendary seaside resort, Punta Cana is arguably a world heritage site with its almost 30 miles of heavenly beaches. Waters deliciously warm, calm and turquoise, fine white sand and coconut trees as far as the eye can see...all the ingredients of an exotic cocktail are brought together for a holiday lazing around. Between the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans this superb coastline lends itself perfectly to diving, all types of water sports, game fishing, sunbathing or the sipping of mojitos. The majority of accommodaiton is gigantic high-end all-inclusive hotel complexes where one can find bars, restaurants and swimming pools. Almost all have a disco, casino, mini club, fitness centre, multi-purpose sports courts and spa, not forgetting the golf course, which is never far away. However, if you look hard enough, you can find some charming little options hidden amongst the all-inclusive giants.
