Valleys

Between the mountains, immense plains and valleys, such as Cibao's in the centre, stretch as far as the eye can see until they are swallowed by dark mountains covered in Caribbean pines. Used for the cultivation of rice, corn and tobacco or for animal pasture, the valleys are dotted with farmers' villages made of small wooden houses of all different colours.
