Keren is a miniature Asmara. The Forto, built during the Turkish period, is the town's main attraction. Amongst the religious sites, you can visit the tombs of Said Abu Bakr el Mirgani and of Mariam de Arit. The Monastery of Debre Sina is on the road to Asmara.
