It is along the 65 miles of road between Asmara and Massawa, that you can see the most beautiful landscapes of Eritrea. The road winds down from an altitude of 2 438 m to sea level, going through valleys, deserts and the bush. It offers a magnificent view over the coastal desert of the Red Sea, and goes through the famous Orthodox Monastery Debre Bizen.
