Pitchfork is a three day festival organised by Pitchfork Media and held in Chicago and Paris. Although you may have missed Pitchfork in Chicago this June, don't worry - the same festival is coming to Paris on November 1-3. The line-up includes Jessie Ware, The Walkmen, Chromatics and Grizzly Bear, along with 30 other acts.
Pitchfork is perfect for those wanting a long weekend escape and who are missing England's plentiful festival season. The line-up is varied enough to have a little something for everyone, with the main vibe being electric, house and trip-hop. Watch out for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs with his extravagant headdresses and confetti canons, who we predict will put on a particularly good show this year.
For all those fans of Parklife (Manchester) and South West Four (London), this festival will be right up your street. It is small enough that you avoid the anonymity of the giants such as Glastonbury, yet large enough to create a great atmosphere and meet some like-minded people. Ultimately though, however great the atmosphere or the afterparties may be, it is the music that makes a festival what it is, so only you can decide if the line-up interests you or not. For the full list, visit the Pitchfork website.
The festival will be held in central Paris at the Grande Halle de la Villette, in the 19th arrondissement and will run from 4:00pm to 2:00am on Thursday and Friday, and from 4:00pm to 6:00am on Saturday.
The weather forecast predicts good conditions on Thursday 1st, yet slightly worse conditions on Friday and Saturday - with rain and low temperatures - so you may want to pack your wellies.
