Located in Midoun, it is 9 miles from Houmt Souk, and 15.5 miles from the airport of Djerba. Expect half an hour for transfers.

Built in 1998, the Abir hotel added a small health club in 2001 where guests can indulge in balneotherapy cures, algae wrapping and marine mud baths, among others. The program includes: care for the back, legs and face, wrappings, shower jets, and relaxing massages.

The facility has a pretty Mediterranean decor in blue and white tones. The complex has three levels. The elevated lobby occupies the central stage. The 165 rooms are accessible from there or from the reception area. On the first floor there is a 6,455 ft² pool (very nice for swimming) surrounded by a tiled sunroom. Sports facilities (tennis, petanque, omnisports terrain) are situated between the terrace and the beach, 1,148 feet from the hotel.

The standard, triple or family rooms are clean and comfortable. There are furnished with modern, simple, wooden furniture, light blue in colour. The rooms all have air conditioning and a telephone. There is no refrigerator or television in the rooms, but you can ask for them (extra charge). Each accommodation on an upper floor has a balcony and there is a terrace in the ground-floor accommodations, with view of the gardens.

All meals are served in the only restaurant of the hotel. The dining room is a pleasant place to be in. The setting of the tables allows for a good level of intimacy. Well set up, the buffet serves dishes such as like salads, pastas and meat in sauce. Everyday, an extra typical dish is offered, such as tajine or couscous. To satisfy your appetite between meals, the snack-bar serves sandwiches and Tunisian pastries.

The beach of Abir is located 1,148 feet from the hotel. You can access it from a well traced trail. Although quite small, the beach is furnished with plastic lounge chairs, thatch parasols and showers. Plan to bring a beach towel. Generally clear, the water can be cloudy when currents deposit algae on the beach. Set under a thatched hut, the beach bar allows you to quench your thirst by the sea.
